One Man's trash is another Man's TREASURE!!

I've been wanting to make a chalkboard for my pantry door, but my door is quite narrow so last week I was on the hunt for a rectangle frame at garage sales, and here is what I found
$1.00, can't beat that! but it looked a bit boring!! so I decided to add this

Then I had to decide on a color, so I thought this would be good, and it was on sale  .77 cents

So I just sprayed over the picture a few times with chalkboard paint, now this is where I had to bite the bullet and spend 7.99 but......I was thinking since I had so much left I can maybe make one for the garage or ????
So after spraying it you have to let it dry over night and then season it by rubbing chalk all over it, then wiping it off. Here is the finished product

And Now here is where I hung it!

I just love Yard sales!!

Our uninvited Guests

This Morning I  woke up to some creatures on our property, There were at least 15 of them. They belong to the farm behind us but they found an entry to ours! The problem is we have plenty of Alfalfa to keep them nice and satisfied! they are so sweet that is hard to be irritated with them....

Mama Theresa's Famous Enchilada Casserole!!

This is one our family Favorites...Stink'n easy and Yummy
step 1:brown hamburger season only with salt/pepper
step 2: add 1/2 onion to the meat while browning, this will add more flavor to your meat!

step 3: add a little enchilada sauce to the bottom of your casserole dish

step 4: Start layering, first a layer of white corn tortillas

step 5: next a layer of meat mixture, then lots of cheese, jack, cheddar, mozz etc...

step 6: repeat layers till you are satisfied, last layer of tortillas top with the remaining sauce lots of cheese and sliced black olives
place into oven 350 for approx. 15 mins. serve with a dollop of sour cream!

My kids love it! I bet you will too!

Another $5.00 score at a yard sale!

Here is a look at an old table I found at a yard sale for only $5.00, it was painted gold and could be chipped off with a single fingernail. It's amazing what a little sand paper, primer and paint can do....I love it!

A chair makeover

Here is a chair I bought a while back at a yard sale for $5.00, I really liked the chair, I thought we could recover it someday, but it seemed I never was too inspired by any material till the other day I was at Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite stores) and saw this material on sale for $7.00. Had to have it!! The color goes perfect with my bedroom and also master bath. and here are the results...But I have to give the credit to my sweet husband for recovering it for me, He's such a great handy MAN!
