Herriman Days Parade!

Today we had our town Parade, it was so awesome! Some  people put out their chairs the night before just to get a good seat. This Year Chris and Jerry were both in it promoting The new Herriman High School Lacrosse Team!!
It lasted approx. an hour, every float threw either candy, popsicles, t-shirts or frisbees. What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning......I just truly love our town, nothing makes me feel happier than being home! Happy Herriman Days!! :)
Me & Joey patiently waiting for the parade to start!

Father's day

My Sweetheart!
The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders;
it's in the width of his arms that encircle you.
*****
The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice;
It's in the gentle words he whispers.
*****
The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has;
It's how good a buddy he is with his children.
*****
The strength of a man isn't how respected he is at work;
It's how respected he is at home.
*****
The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits;
It's in how tender he touches.
*****
The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest;
It's in his heart that lies in his chest.
*****
The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift;
it's in the burdens he can carry.

Jam'n it up!

I forget how easy it is to make freezer Jam, (only about 20 mins. total) and how happy it makes my family! One of my favorite things to do is making the jar look pretty so I can give it away.....

Family Home Evening

Tonight we went to the park  for family home evening, it is a great park, very big and spacious. Jerry BBQ chicken  I made macaroni salad, sliced up oranges and strawberries and had picnic it was  fun. We all played a little lacrosse and Frisbee, (some of us are better at those sports than others) Then at the end of our time together Chris serenaded us with his guitar, I can listen to him play all night! What a talent he has!
Here's joey

And of course Joey couldn't help himself he had to roll down the hill a dozen times, where he gets the energy I'll never know!

What a great family home evening that was! we will have to do that again real soon!

Our front porch guest!

Saturday when the wind was blowing quite hard a butterfly flew on to my topiary I have on my front porch, well Jerry says that he thinks the wind blew so hard that the butterfly tried with all his might to hold on and then died from a heart attack.:( but isn't he cute? I don't know what to do with it any suggestions???

I found something to paint!

So I was thinking about how much extra black paint I had and this item came to mind, I've had this for about eight years and the past 4 have been in my basement collecting dust, It is hard to see in this picture but it has three pockets and labels and hooks so you can hang keys or such on it. It use to be just brown and boring.....now it's black and FABULOUS!          Dont' cha  Love it!!

Our first garden in Utah!

Preparing the garden...We were lucky to find these great railroad beams a while back when they were preparing the new tracks out in west Jordan and we asked some of the workers if we could have a few, they told us yes cause they were just gonna dump em somewhere so we took some, I mainly wanted them for steps out back, but we had  few extra so we used them to create a garden.

So we had to decide what to plant and this is what we came up with...

Tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, pumpkins, sunflowers, strawberries, yellow & red bell peppers, zucchini & onions.
wish us good luck! I will keep you updated so you can see the progress!

Yard Sale!

Today was my Yard sale, and man am I happy it's over! I think I need to just stick with going to them, its much easier.
This is me  happy and chipper 7am in the morning, ready to get the party started!!
 Joey had a goodie stand where he had Licorice, cookies and drinks!

He ended up making $10.38...he was happy!

All I have to say is the kids in the neighborhood loved it! I think Joey has never had so many friends as he had today!
After 5 hours of this I was, to say the least......................POOPED OUT!
P.S. I was able to sneak out for a bit to go to one myself and look at what I found..I was happy:) I think I'm in love!
I just love purses! "The bigger they are, the smaller you look"!

Happy Yard Sailing!!
